Dancing on the Rooftop - Friday Fictioneers

For this week's Friday Fictioneer

Genre: Historical Fiction
Word Count: 100

Dancing on the Rooftop
She swung her sandaled feet over the side of the rooftop’s edge. “It sure looks like a long way down to the street from up here,” she dropped one of the sandals off of her foot.
“You can come down from there now,” Nicholai said with a dead-eyed gaze on his face.
She knew what that look meant, but today she did not care about anything, least of all a missing sandal. In less than two hours an empty casket with his name on the stone above it, would be forever labeled “. . . he was a good friend.”

I am not sure how this would fit the Historical Fiction category, but this is what the photo made me think of.
